I am a tenure-track associate professor (professor lector) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, under the Serra-Húnter program. I teach and do my research within the Department of Automatic Control, ESAII.
My research efforts focus on the development of algorithmic solutions to make chemical detection systems ready for a new pool of applications. For example, air quality control, non-invasive monitoring in assisted living facilities, or reducing the number of fire alarms, to mention just a few. I have also been attracted by the dynamics of neural systems to understand how we can learn and reproduce sequence of patterns and by the biological olfactory system to optimize the design of artificial sensory systems.
