Calibration of fire alarms is performed in standard fire rooms, the access to which is very costly. Gas sensor arrays, however, are usually tested in lab conditions. In this work, we present a calibration model that combines experiments from a standard fire room and from a small-scale setup. Results show that the use of data acquired in small-scale setup improves the performance of the fire detection system in the standard fire room, reducing thereby calibration costs. This result approaches fire detectors based on gas sensors to the market.
